Associate Judges

The Commission is reviewing the qualifications of the following Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for reappointment to a fifteen (15) year term:

• Hon. Milton C. Lee, Jr., Chief Judge, has declared his candidacy for reappointment as an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, upon expiration of his current term on June 23, 2025.
• Hon. Todd E. Edelman has declared his candidacy for reappointment as an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, upon expiration of his current term on June 23, 2025.

Senior Judges

The Commission is reviewing the qualifications of the following judges of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals for reappointment as Senior Judges:

• Hon. Lee F. Satterfield has requested a recommendation for reappointment as a Senior Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, upon expiration of his current term on March 4, 2025.
• Hon. Eric T. Washington has requested a recommendation for reappointment as a Senior Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, upon expiration of his current term on March 19, 2025.

Public Comment Period

The Commission invites members of the Bar, litigants, former jurors, interested organizations, and members of the public to submit comments or any other information bearing on the performance and qualifications of each of the above-referenced judges to continue his respective judicial service.
Comment deadlines are as follows:

• Associate Judges
  • Hon. Milton C. Lee, Jr., Chief Judge – January 31, 2025
  • Hon. Todd E. Edelman – January 31, 2025
• Senior Judges
  • Hon. Lee F. Satterfield* – Extended to January 17, 2025
  • Hon. Eric T. Washington – February 14, 2025* (new announcement as of January 7, 2025)

If the comments or information pertain to a specific case, the Commission requests the case be identified by the case caption and include the identification of any relevant hearing dates or pleadings.
