Senior Judges

The Commission is reviewing the qualifications of the following judges of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for recommendations for initial appointment or reappointment as Senior Judges:

  • Hon. Cheryl M. Long for reappointment as a Senior Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon expiration of her current term on December 3, 2025.
     
  • Hon. Gregory E. Mize for reappointment as a Senior Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon expiration of his current term on December 31, 2025.
     
  • Hon. Craig Iscoe for initial appointment as a Senior Judge to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon his retirement in January 2026.
     
  • Hon. Kimberley S. Knowles for initial appointment as a Senior Judge to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon her retirement in January 2026.
     
  • Hon. Patricia A. Wynn for reappointment as a Senior Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon expiration of her current term on January 31, 2026.
     
  • Hon. Zoe Bush for an initial appointment as a Senior Judge to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon expiration of her current term on February 3, 2026.
     
  • Hon. Russell F. Canan for an initial appointment as a Senior Judge to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon expiration of his current term on February 3, 2026.
     
  • Hon. Natalia Combs Greene for reappointment as a Senior Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia upon expiration of her current term on February 17, 2026.

Public Comment Period

The Commission invites members of the Bar, litigants, former jurors, interested organizations and members of the public to submit comments or any other information bearing on the performance and qualifications of each of the above-referenced judges to continue her or his respective judicial service.

The identity and personal information of commenters will be kept confidential unless the commenter approves disclosure. The Commission encourages commenters to provide detailed information, such as examples of experiences you have had before these judges. If the comments or information pertain to a specific case, please identify the case caption and any relevant hearing dates or pleadings.

Comment deadlines are as follows:

  • Hon. Cheryl M. Long and Hon. Gregory E. Mize – October 17, 2025
     
  • Hon. Craig Iscoe, Hon. Kimberley S. Knowles, and Hon. Patricia A. Wynn – November 3, 2025
     
  • Hon. Zoe Bush, Hon. Russell F. Canan, and Hon. Natalia Combs Greene – November 14, 2025
