Each year, the Chairperson of the Commission testifies in annual oversight hearings before the Council of the District of Columbia’s Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety. Although the Commission was created by federal statute and is not a DC agency, the Commission’s important independent oversight of judges who serve in the DC Courts is supported by the DC Mayor and DC Council.  

The Commission is subject to strict statutory limitations on what information it can release publicly. However, where possible, the Commission continues to provide information regarding its work to serve the public.

Each year, the Commission’s Chairperson submits responses to pre-hearing questions in advance of the annual oversight hearings before the DC Council’s Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety.
