In December 2016 Congress passed the District of Columbia Judicial Financial Transparency Act, which amended DC Code §11-1530, and modified some of the reporting categories and the method of reporting for judges of the District of Columbia Courts who must complete and submit an Annual Financial Report to the Commission. The statute now provides, that starting with calendar year 2016, the entire Report will be available for public copying and inspection.
The Commission revised its Rules, revised the Annual Financial Report form judges had previously used, drafted filing instructions to assist judges in completing the Report, and prescribed a public access information form and instructions to comply with the requirements set forth in the amended statute.
