The Commission’s Jurisdiction

The jurisdiction of the District of Columbia Commission on Judicial Disabilities (CJDT) extends to all active and senior judges of the District of Columbia Courts, and embraces four areas:

  1. A judge's conduct warranting disciplinary action. See Filing A Complaint.
  2. Involuntary retirement of a judge for reasons of health.
  3. Evaluation of a judge who seeks reappointment upon the expiration of his or her term.
  4. Evaluation of a judge who retires and wishes to continue judicial service as a senior judge.
