Since its inception in 1970, 45 individuals have served as members of the District of Columbia Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure. The Commission has been very fortunate that the appointing authorities have selected capable, dedicated, and conscientious members to serve on this body over the past 41 years. Though the membership changes periodically, one factor has remained constant, and that is the Commission’s steadfast commitment to fulfill its statutory duties and responsibilities. In addition, despite the intermittent changes in membership and leadership, and the difficult issues presented for resolution over the years, members past and present have always been cordial and maintained an abiding respect for each individual’s views. This level of cooperation and collegiality has served the Commission well.
