The District of Columbia Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure Issues Its Evaluation Report on the Reappointment of the Honorable Marisa J. Demeo to President Donald J. Trump

Friday, February 14, 2025

The District of Columbia Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure announced that it has issued its Evaluation Report on the Reappointment of the Honorable Marisa J. Demeo to President Donald J. Trump.

The Commission received Judge Demeo’s declaration of declaration of candidacy for reappointment as an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia in August 2024. Thereafter, the Commission initiated a thorough fitness review and evaluation of Judge Demeo’s judicial performance and qualifications, which included input from the public, the Bar and the bench.

The Commission has determined by unanimous vote that Judge Demeo is well qualified for reappointment to an additional 15-year term as an Associate Judge. Therefore, and in accordance with the Commission’s statute, Judge Demeo’s judicial term will automatically renew upon the expiration of her current term on April 20, 2025.

The Commission’s complete Evaluation Report is available on the Commission’s website here.

The Commission commends Judge Demeo for her judicial performance and commitment to the Court, her colleagues and the community. The Commission further extends its appreciation to all members of the public who participated in this process.
