The Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure Encourages Members of the Bar to Participate in the 2024-2025 Judicial Evaluation Survey

Friday, January 3, 2025

Each year, the DC Bar Judicial Evaluation Committee invites Bar members who have appeared before selected DC Court judges to provide their feedback in an anonymous survey. Judges are selected for review on a rotating basis based on years of service and other factors.

As the DC Bar announcement confirms, the survey is administered by an independent research organization to ensure confidentiality. The survey results are presented to the Chief Judges, the individual judges evaluated, and the Commission. “The survey results provide the courts and the DC Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure with valuable feedback on the performance of members of the judiciary. The survey results also help to further the Bar’s commitment to the administration of justice.”

The Commission encourages members of the Bar to participate in this important survey.

If members of the community have specific matters that they wish to bring to the Commission’s attention confidentially or anonymously, they may:

  • File a complaint using the link at the bottom of the “How to File a Complaint” page on the Commission’s website: Filing a Complaint
  • Contact the Commission or its Special Counsel directly at [email protected]
  • Contact any member of the Commission

Members of the Commission are:
Hon. Amy L. Bess, Esq., Chairperson
Hon. Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, Past Chairperson
Hon. Diane M. Brenneman, Ret., Vice Chairperson
Dr. Patrick G. Jackson
